Thoughts in the Temple

While I was in the Temple today I kept thinking about how in ancient times the oldest son usually if not all the sons were required to learn a sacred language and memorize major portions of scripture. I realized that I too can help my family to gain in the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by following a similar pattern. As a family we could set goals each year to read certain books and memorize scriptures or quotes, and so forth. I thought it would be fun to tie that in to family vacations as a prerequisite or something. It is just a thought and I will think about it to see if I could come up with a good plan.
